Who we are

LittleThinkers is a web application designed for school therapists, social workers, and learning support staff to run image-based sequencing activities with children. It is not a consumer product and is not intended for use by children directly without adult supervision.

What data we collect

• Professional accounts: username, email address, role, and password (hashed).
• Student profiles: first name, last name, optional nickname, age, and session notes — entered by the professional.
• Session data: activity attempts, answer order, score, and time taken per session.
• Uploaded images: activity step images uploaded by professionals, stored on our media server.

How we use data

• To display progress reports and session results to the logged-in professional.
• To generate PDF summaries and activity cards for printing.
• We do not sell, share, or use any data for advertising or analytics.

Children's data

Student profiles contain only the information entered by the professional. We recommend using first names or nicknames only — no national ID, contact information, or sensitive medical records should be stored in this application.

Data storage

All data is stored on secured servers. Uploaded images are stored on an S3-compatible object store. Passwords are hashed using Django's PBKDF2 algorithm and are never stored in plain text.

Data retention

Data is retained as long as the account is active. Professionals may delete student profiles and sessions at any time from within the application.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.
